Where The Wild Things Are

about

A piece to take you back to that safe, nostalgic, other-worldly place that is always there within, where we can be who are really are.

Written, composed, recorded and produced in collaboration remotely with Joe Murphy, and inspired by the book "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak, that I had in the background during our Zoom's.

Vocals and guitar by Ch'Lu (Camilla Mathias), all other instrumentation by Joe Murphy.

I took the cover photo from the depths of my local wild woods during the UK Lockdowns.

lyrics

Oh pillow, take me where I long to be,
The place I can be me.
Where I don’t need to blend
And there is nothing to defend.

Where I’m never stuck,
I can always try my luck.
Where surprises keep coming
And I love the person I’m becoming.

It’s not far to
Where the wild things are.

Within these walls I’m off on that journey,
To the place that is so familiar to me.
No-one is the same and no-one is alone;
Everyone is welcome and everyone is known.

But does anyone ever speak of this magical place?
Is this something/Is there a reality I need to face?
But if think too much, more doubts arrive,
And that’s just another reason to keep you alive.

It’s not far to
Where the wild things are.
